Everyone is welcome to drop into Quay. Located on Level 2, Quay is open seven days a week; it is a fun and informal place where children, young people and their families can enjoy lots of activities as well as a location for showcasing work created with local schools and community groups.
There are areas to get messy, places to create and spaces to relax. Quay also hosts Toddler Time between 10.30-12.30 every Tuesday, and Busy B's, our free, artist led family activities between 14.00-16.00 every weekend. There’s no need to book simply drop in to enjoy these fun workshops.
Family Quests are free mini tours for children aged 11 and under and their families. Family Quests are led by BALTIC Crew and take place every Saturday at 11.30, starting at the Quay Information Point. These are a great opportunity to find out more about contemporary art in an informal and imaginative way through game play and fun creative activities linked to our current exhibitions.
Quay also houses ART MIX HUB, a new space exclusively for 14-19 year olds a BALTIC. Find out more about Art Mix.
Drop by Level 2 any day during gallery hours and tune into our in-house television channel, BALTIC TV.
Enjoy one of the many short programmes on BALTIC exhibitions, artists, events and history which screen throughout the day on the plasma screens.
Including interesting insights and facts about current exhibitions, behind the scenes footage, presentations from BALTIC Crew and interviews with artists themselves, BALTIC TV lets you discover BALTIC’s past and present from a new perspective.
