BALTIC presents the work of British artist Hannah Collins (born London, 1956), known for her large unframed photographs and installations that create immersive spatial experiences.
BILL MURRAY: a story of distance, size and sincerity
In BILL MURRAY: a story of distance, size and sincerity, artist Brian Griffiths presents an ambitious new commission that takes in BALTIC’s vast Level 4 gallery with a contrastingly small-scale production. A series of nine different style buildings, including a lavish LA beach house, a historic Scottish mansion and an ocean adventure dome, imagine Hollywood actor Bill Murray’s activities and pastimes.

American artist B. Wurtz is best known for his carefully assembled sculptures and installations made of a wide range of commonplace, discarded materials. A prideful appreciator of lowly objects, his practice is highly concerned with the ethics of re-use, yet is also highly engaged with art history.
BALTIC Ryder Commission
BALTIC and Ryder Architecture present the second in a series of new commissions exploring the relationship between architecture and art. The project brings together an emerging architectural practice with an artist to collaborate on a co-authored artwork which will be displayed in BALTIC’s level 2 gallery. This year, BALTIC and Ryder have commissioned Alice Theobald and Atomik Architecture to produce a major new installation.
Omer Fast uses complex narrative structures to explore the different ways stories are constructed. Blurring the boundaries between "reality" and "representation" and between document and artifice, his practice questions the status of the image. This exhibition, co-produced with Jeu de Paume, Paris and Kunsten Museum of Modern Art, Aalborg, will present new and recent work.
